Bowl Season

It is that wonderful time of year again. The wife wants much more for christmas than i can afford, the salvation army makes sure you can't enter stores without giving a donation, and the BCS screwed up again, forcing millions to say, "why in the hell isn't their a playoff".

You can't argue that Alabama and Texas shouldn't be in the championship. Everyone and their mother knew around September it would probably be these two teams, or maybe Florida, but God came through and ruined Tebow's career. The problem now is teams like Boise St, TCU, and Cin City, all with perfect records wondering, what more could we have done? Simple answer, become independant and schedule whoever you want, or keep being satisfied playing for nothing every single season while being undefeated.

If it isn't bad enough these three teams don't have a chance to win the title, the BCS ruined the chance of any of them playing a somewhat meaningful game. Cin city drew a Florida team which might pull a Notre Dame and just say no. There's no crying in football Tebow, ok. You still had a game left. You can't pull a NBA champion Adam Morrison at Gonzaga and just break down like that. If i played on the O-line i'd give Tebow something to cry about.

Were TCU. We ran the table and had a few big wins. Ya, well we're Boise and we beat Oregon. Ya, well we're the BCS, just play each other because you probably wouldn't travel well. How are these teams supposed to prove themselves when they end up playing each other to finish the season for the 2nd straight year?

Last problem about the BCS. This PAC-10 vs BIG 10 Rose bowl shit has to go. The big 10 continues to be the single worst conference in college football. They loose to MAC teams, the teams that are supposed to be good always loose terrible games, and the most popular coach hasn't been alive since Buddy Holly's plane went down. Then the pac 10 comes out. The division should be changed to the USC+9. Ya, they had a down year but do you really think Pete Carroll won't figure things out and recruit the hell out of California?

Bowl games offer no reason to watch. If there is a reason, chances are the viewers won't watch because the teams usually don't deserve to be there. A playoff levels the playing field. We will never hear about a team getting screwed because there are never more than four or five teams that deserve a chance. Anthing after that is gravy.
