The Evolution of Rajon Rondo

Last night we continued to see Rajon Rondo grow right before our eyes. In the first 5 minutes of last nights game against the Spurs, Tony Parker made Rondo look like a rookie again. Parker was blowing by him for lay ups and making Rondo take bad shots on offense. Then Rondo came back in the second quarter and really changed the game. He had about 3 little floaters and along with Sam Cassell and Paul Pierce brought the Celtics back from down 22 to only down 10 at the half. Rondo continued his great play in the second half with the highlight being the sick spin move he pulled on Mr. Eva Longoria in the 3rd. Rondo then capped off his night by ripping down a big rebound with the Celtics leading and then knocking down huge free throws with 16.6 seconds left. That also shows how much he has improved his overall game. All year hes been knocking down that mid range shot and then he stepped up and silenced some doubters on if he cant shoot free throws. Rondo finished the game with 20 points on 9-18 shooting and 6 rebounds.

Also Sam I Am showed why the Celtics went out and got him. He came off the bench and really kept the team in the game by working his classic mid range game. Then he lived up to his reputation as a crunch time player. With the Celts down 1, Cassell buried a 3 on some great ball movement to put the Green up by 2. Overall it was a huge road win against one of the best teams in the NBA. It was a playoff atmosphere and it was good to see a young player like Rondo thrive in that environment.

Tonight is another big game for the Celtics as they take on the streaking Houston Rockets and look the end the streak. As we all know the Rockets have won 22 straight games, that's good for second all time in the NBA. Look for the Celtics to work KG early and often. It should be another great game and if it has half the excitement as last nights game did then it should be another thriller.
