Cavs vs Celtics

Tonight at 8:00 is Game 1 of the Boston Celtics vs the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is going to be a difficult series for the Celtics. The Cavs have a solid inside game with Big Z, solid perimeter shooters with Wally, Delonte West, and Boobie Gibson, a good bench, and of course, LeBron James. It is impossible to stop LeBron. Paul Pierce, James Posey, and even Tony Allen will all draw the assignment to guard him but really everyone on the floor will have to help out in various ways. Perk and KG have to always show on screens and control the paint. I wouldn't really double LeBron because he is such a good passer and the Cavs have some shooters. I would see that Celtics just play the same team defense that they have been playing all year. There really is no scheme that Doc Rivers and the Celtics are going to draw up. Its just going to be what its been all year. Great Defense.

Also I would look to see the Celtics really work Ray Allen on offense. Wally is probably going to guard him and Wally has never been a good defender so you can run Ray Allen off a lot of screens. By doing that you should tire Wally out and his legs will be gone from his jump shot.

The New Orleans Hornets have dominated the Spurs in the first 2 games of that series. They have fed off their home crowd and made the Spurs look old. I will never count out the Spurs like I did in the first round. The Spurs will handle their business on their home court and make the necessary adjustments to try and slow down Chris Paul. Paul is a lot like LeBron where he is impossible to guard. Duncan and Manu have a couple rough games but they are the defending champions so I think that they will take the 2 games in San Antonio to tie up the series.
